Of course, you must get the timing of the pre-emergent right for it to be effective. As you can probably tell by the name, you must treat the lawn before the weed seedling emerges. Knowing the right timing and the right solution are why you need a lawn professional to handle your weed treatment.
If you’ve missed the window for the pre-emergent, you can still get a handle on weeds with post emergent control options. Weeds are tougher to control as they mature and become fully grown. More than one application of a post emergent product may be necessary depending on the time of year and weed type.
